Metastable Coordination Dynamics of Collaborative Creativity in Educational Settings

Educational systems consider fostering creativity and cooperation as two essential aims to nurture future sustainable citizens. The cooperative learning approach proposes different pedagogical strategies for developing in students. In this paper, we conceptualize collaborative under the framework of coordination dynamics and, specifically, base it on formation spontaneous multiscale synergies emerging complex living when interacting with cooperative/competitive environments. This conception educational agents (students, teachers, institutions) changes understanding teaching/learning process traditional roles assigned each agent. Under such an understanding, design co-design challenging meaningful environments is a key aspect promote emergence functional teams (of students, students institutions, etc.). According dynamics, competitive processes (within between their environments) are seen not opposites but complementary pairs, needed develop increase diversity potential teams. Adequate manipulation environmental personal constraints, nested level time scales, knowledge critical (tipping) points aspects adequate synergistic creativity.
